Thai Beef Salad Recipe

(serves 4)

1 lb sirloin steak
1/2 medium red onion
lime juice
2 Roma tomatoes
1/2 English cucumber
1/2 bunch cilantro
fish sauce, to taste
chili peppers, dry or fresh
1/2 bunch Romaine lettuce


1) Sear sirloin steak to desired doneness.

2) Thinly slice onion (with the grain), put in a bowl and add lime juice.

3) Slice tomatoes (vertically), slice cucumber, chop cilantro. Add to bowl of onion and lime juice.

4) When completely cool, thinly slice sirloin steak (against the grain). Add to above bowl and toss.

5) Add fish sauce to taste. Add more lime juice if not sour enough. Salad should be slightly salty and sour. Add chili peppers if desired.

6) Immediately before serving, chop lettuce into 1 inch pieces and toss with everything.
